ACADEMY OF DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT – INSTITUTE OF SKY POLITICS On the result of the election of the head of administration in Taiwan In state-building, the Republic of China of 1912 inherits from the Qing Empire of China. And the People's Republic of China of 1949 inherits from the Republic of China. In 1949, the Chinese government of the Nationalist Party Kuomintang (founded by the "father of the nation" Sun Yat-sen in 1916, color blue), after defeat in the civil war by the fraternal Communist Party of China (color red), moved to the island of Taiwan. Today, along the shores of the Taiwan Strait live "brothers of one womb" from one mother Motherland and two fathers: Chiang Kai-shek and Mao Zedong. In family ethics, the administration of Taiwan, in relation to the government of the PRC, reserves for itself the dignity of the elder brother, whereas in real life the status of elder since 1972 passed to Beijing. Here lies the main contradiction within the people. On 13.01.24, in the presidential election in Taiwan, the candidate from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP, color green), incumbent Vice President Lai Ching-te, won, receiving about 41% of the votes. His main rival, the Kuomintang candidate Hou Yu-ih, who received around 33% of the votes, conceded defeat. The third candidate — the head of the Taiwan People's Party (TPP, color white) Ko Wen-je — received about 26% of the votes. The result of the election in Taiwan, where a democrat (DPP) won rather than a nationalist (Kuomintang), clearly shows the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee on the mainland that democracy is the power of democrats. If the population had a choice between the two, the Kuomintang would have won. But the technologists from the democrats in 2019 invented a third candidate, who took away the votes of the nationalists. Taiwan remains for Beijing both a bogeyman of Western-style progressiveness (partnership with the USA and diplomatic relations with the Vatican) and a model of Chinese nationalism competing with the nationalism of socialism with Chinese characteristics. At the press conference following the election, Lai Ching-te said: "I will follow the constitutional system of the Republic of China, I will be neither humble nor arrogant, I will maintain the status quo and, on the basis of reciprocity and respect, replace containment with exchanges, confrontation with dialogue, and I will confidently carry out cooperation with mainland China, as well as improve the well-being of the people on both sides of the strait and pursue the achievement of the goal of peace and common prosperity." In an interview with Time, Lai stated: "Taiwan hopes for friendship with China — we do not want to be enemies. We would be glad to see PRC Chairman Xi Jinping in Taiwan and will prepare Taiwanese delicacies for him." The already third consecutive victory of the Democratic Progressive Party became for Beijing a signal of the failure of the policy of integration with Taiwan through economic and social incentives accompanied by threats and demonstrations of military power. In his New Year 2024 address, Xi called reunification with the island a "historical necessity." Therefore, now from the CPC, in place of threats and intimidation, a fresh stratagem will be required for returning Taiwan to the bosom of the Motherland. It is highly likely that Beijing will employ a technique from WUSHU: it will accept the invitation to "taste Taiwanese delicacies," giving the first move in the negotiations to Lai Ching-te, "concerned about responsibility for maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait." And having begun a dialogue "on the basis of dignity and parity," it will turn the vector of intentions toward reunification according to the formula "one China, two systems."

100 yuan with the portrait of Sun Yat-sen and 100 yuan with the portrait of Mao Zedong For now, in Taiwan everything will remain as before. The president — a democrat — is balanced by a parliament with a preponderance of nationalists. In Taiwan live the same Chinese as on the mainland, they eat the same food, the lifestyle is the same. But Taiwanese live more freely and richly than on the mainland. That is why they fear reunification. Executed by Andrey Devyatov No934 of 14.01.24
