A besieged fortress in all-around defense

The countries participating in the military-political bloc are held together more by politics than by matters of collective security.

Politics is a question of power, formulated as: who is the enemy?

This question is answered by ideology, whose conceptual foundation consists of non-material values and sacred things; they are not for sale, for them it is worthy to shed blood and to die with glory.

Whereas interests are, as a rule, self-serving. Here there is security, the desire to sit it out behind the "fortress walls" of aggregate power, a demonstrative "saber-rattling" at exercises, but not a concentration of will to decisively advance on the enemy, for to advance is dangerous!

The military confrontation between the "blue" North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the "red" Warsaw Treaty Organization (WTO) was filled with the will to victory, and the direct path to victory is only the offensive and the meeting engagement.

The collapse of the WTO deprived NATO of the conceptual bond of Atlantic unity. The collective West fell into a spineless complacency of the well-fed life of comfort. Its serene security was disturbed only by pitiful terrorists, extremists and separatists. 

The same loss of the will to victory also befell the New liberal Russia of democratic choice. Having replaced the "sickle-and-hammer" red Flag of Victory with the blue flag of the ruling party bearing a northern polar bear, symbolizing a turn in RF policy from the axis of geopolitical confrontation East – West to the axis of containing terrorists and extremists of radical Islam North – South.

The loss of the existential adversary relaxed NATO. Which now, in an unexpected clash with the "unpredictable stupidity" (O. von Bismarck's expression) of Russia's offensive in the Ukrainian theater of operations, has plunged the alliance of democracies into a crisis fraught with disintegration. 

Matters are no better with the new Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which replaced the Warsaw Treaty of peace and socialism and came under the blue flag of liberalism. Which, at the unconscious level of distinction, in the symbol of color, placed the CSTO in the same row as the flags of democracy: the UN, IMF, EU, NATO.  

The entire architecture of collective security of Greater Eurasia — the military-political interaction of the CSTO with the CIS and the SCO — also found itself in the symbolism of blue convergence with the West. 

The stronghold of the countries and peoples of non-Western civilizations on the path of peace and socialism in the turbulent processes of global transformation of the new era of the information society turned out to be the People's Republic of China with the concept of the Community of Shared Future for Mankind.

The New Russia of democratic choice, in the practice of the clash of civilizations of the World of the West with the World of Islam, including four years of combat operations in the Ukrainian theater of operations of a WWIII of a new hybrid type, in 2026 imperceptibly began to change its doctrinal values.

The collapsed doctrine of Moscow – the Third Rome, unobtrusively, beginning with Russian-Chinese relations, suddenly began to be displaced by the concept of the inflow of the energy of the East: Greater Eurasia – the Third Horde. 

Thus. On 14.04.26 in Beijing the head of the MFA of the RF called for "properly coordinating the global initiatives put forward by the Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping with the concept of the Greater Eurasian Partnership and the Eurasian security architecture, proposed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, to maintain coordination and interaction on multilateral platforms and in international and regional affairs, to protect one's national interests and jointly uphold the security and stability of the international system."

Back in 2016 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, and then in 2017 in Beijing at the Belt and Road Forum, V. Putin uttered a historic phrase: "Greater Eurasia is not some geopolitical abstraction, but, without any exaggeration, a civilizational project aspiring to the future".

It took 10 years of a war of meanings to shift the old dogmatics of the soulless state tyranny of Rome toward the ethics of the family of peoples of non-Western civilizations.

The world is ruled by signs and symbols, not words and laws. Therefore, the urgent task of the CSTO becomes the replacement of the blue symbolism of liberal democracy with the purple symbolism of Eurasianism.
