ACADEMY OF DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT – INSTITUTE OF SKY POLITICS What is not usually talked about It is quite obvious that, unlike other peoples of the world, the Chinese record the meanings of existence with hieroglyphs (the Japanese, Koreans, and Vietnamese use Chinese hieroglyphs. 800 hieroglyphs are included in a common list to be memorized by heart). Hieroglyphs are symbols that always convey the meanings of words pictorially, sometimes as pictures, sometimes hinting at their sound as well, but always bypassing their exact reading in sounds. Whereas letters act as abstract signs of sounds. the most complex hieroglyph – merely a brand of the proprietary noodle “biang” with a special taste Letters make up the alphabet – the basis of the code of sound writing. In the Chinese language there is no alphabet for the sounds of speech, while the basis of the code of hieroglyphic writing in everyday practice comprises from two to five thousand units of meanings of monosyllabic words; taking ancient texts into account, the basis of the code exceeds 40,000 symbols. Such an enormous basis of the code ensures coverage of fresh meanings by selecting the values of two or three hieroglyphs for any new names arising in the process of innovation and the technical revolution. And the processing of hieroglyphic texts by computers turned out to be more effective than that of texts in sound writing.

Symbols are what figuratively unite extensive diversity of thought into a single meaning, as a rule unconscious, but often also fully conscious. Thus, the hammer and sickle ☭ is a symbol of the red idea. In texts, for example, the first line of the Christians’ New Testament in the Gospel of John in the Russian Synodal translation states: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God.” Whereas an adequate interpretation of this saying in Chinese realities carries the following meaning: “In the beginning was the Dao, and the Dao was Shen (Spirit).” The Great Dao is the Way of Heaven, about which nothing definite can be said, for the Truth lies beyond the limits of human consciousness. As for the Spirit Shen, he – the “Spirit of Truth, the Giver of life” – descends from heaven upon man through the Grace of De. De flows in time, launching the energy of life Qi with a “spark of God.” Qi is nurtured on earth from the blood genotype Jing and extends in space. Thus, by the triplet Jing – Qi – Shen, the phenomenon of life is obtained in the trinity of body, soul, and spirit. The Grace of the Spirit must be acquired by gaining inspiration. The soul must be saved from temptations, directing impulses of inspiration toward the realization of abilities. And the body must be fed, satisfying needs. It is quite obvious that it is very difficult to make a fully adequate translation of texts in sound writing into hieroglyphs without additional explanations, and a translation of Chinese poets into sound writing in the fullness and integrity of the original images is impossible. In any case, the natural course of things will bring about a sinicization of meanings, whether of the texts of Holy Scripture, of treatises of classical philosophy, or of the canonical texts of Marxism. The sinicization of the ideas of Marxism for the departing era of industrial society with the motto “common cause” (共 产) was done by Mao Zedong. The sinicization of the red idea for the new era of the information society with the motto “common good” (共享) was done by Xi Jinping. An enormous contribution to the reinterpretation of Marxism in the Chinese manner was made by the architect of China’s reform and opening-up, Deng Xiaoping. To him belongs the idea of building socialism with “yellow” Chinese specifics, successfully implemented in practice within the country. Xi Jinping, in turn, acted as the designer of the project of socialism with Chinese specifics of the new era, set for the realization of the Chinese dream of reviving the greatness of the nation of yellow people and creating around China a Community of Shared Future for Mankind. So, the cornerstone of Chinese specifics is that the Chinese think in hieroglyphs. The symbolism of hieroglyphs pulls thought toward the concrete. One can imagine something new, unprecedented, something that has never been. This is especially true of the paradoxical thinking of gifted people who speak and think in Russian. And when you think in hieroglyphs, there is always something in your head that can be imagined. Something that, like the vague image of the “hedgehog in the fog,” has already existed at some time. That is why the Chinese seek a way out of the general crisis of industrial society, whether in its capitalist or socialist version, in the warehouse of ideas of their own history. And there – a two-circuit monetary system of the Asian mode of production under the conditions of the power of eastern despotism. That is why Xi Jinping – leader-father/emperor – forever, and at once in three functions: spiritual leader (head of the party), supreme secular ruler (head of state), and senior military commander (dispensing swift judgment and reprisal). The long history of statehood in China – 24 dynasties have changed – suggests the “three musts” for emerging from the crisis, these are: - rectify names (hence the ideas of the community of shared future), - strengthen ritual (a bet on the unconscious in digitalization) and

- foretell the future (the Chinese dream). As for Xi’s statement that the main task of the first stage of the march into the New Era (from 2020 to 2035) is: “The search for new scientifically grounded ideas of development,” the Chinese are not seeking a path. The path is determined by the goal-setting of building by 2049 a powerful modernized socialist state. But under conditions of “dangerous storms, strong wind, and restless water,” they are feeling for supports where to set their foot, fording across into a bright future through the muddy stream of tectonic processes of global transformation. And in order not to slip off the firm support of practice, not to fall into the whirlpool of changes, scientific justifications are needed – the repeatability of the result of “Chinese specifics” in the new era. Here it is appropriate to note a long-made assessment by Nobel laureate in economics Douglas North: “No economic theory of the West can explain what is happening in China.” Executed by Andrey Devyatov No929 of 19.12.23
